Adjusted Westbound I-4 Lane Reduction Schedule
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is adjusting the scheduled lane reduction of westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) through downtown Orlando. Originally planned to start Wednesday night, westbound I-4 will be reduced from three lanes to one between Princeton Street and Gore Street beginning as soon as 9 p.m. Thursday, May 14.
Demolition work, completed during overnight I-4 lane closures earlier this week, allowed the I-4 Ultimate project team to adjust the start of the continuous lane reduction by one day; lessening the burden on motorists.
The westbound I-4 lane reduction now begins Thursday and continues through 6 a.m. Monday, May 18, as previously scheduled. Additionally, I-4 and S.R. 408 entrance and exit ramps will be closed at varying times throughout the week as work continues at the I-4/ S.R. 408 interchange. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes or consider SunRail as a travel option to avoid delays while shifts are implemented.

Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra time to navigate the downtown area.
Modifications or extensions to these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
