Rep. Chip LaMarca Statement on Broward County Economy Reopening

Posted on May 18, 2020

With the news that Broward County will be reopening this week, Rep. Chip LaMarca (R-Lighthouse Point), whose district encompasses eastern Broward County and who previously served as a county commissioner, released the following statement:

“While we must continue to put the safety and health of our community first, it’s time for our economy to open. As business owners open their doors for the first time in nearly two months, I ask that we practice patience.  We are all adapting to a new way of life.

“Our economy is strong and we will move forward from this pandemic, but not without everyone working together. It is not the time to shift blame to others just to grab headlines. We can move forward in a logical, methodical way, and our economy and community will be better off if we do.”
