Mast, Rouda Introduce Bipartisan Legislation To Help Small Businesses Recover From Coronavirus

Posted on June 30, 2020

U.S. Congressmen Brian Mast (FL-18) and Harley Rouda (CA-48) today introduced the bipartisan Helping Businesses Reopen Safely Act to help small business recover from the impacts of coronavirus. Specifically, this legislation would provide a tax credit to small businesses, nonprofits and local governments of up to $25,000 annually to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies that are critical in mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

“Small businesses in our community have been hit hard by the devastating impacts of coronavirus with many being forced to close their doors for months on end. As businesses begin the phased reopening process, we must do more to help them do so in a way that is safe for everyone without creating an additional financial burden,” Rep. Mast said. “This legislation will go a long way in helping small businesses reopen their doors and protect our public health in the process.”

The legislation can be found HERE.
