The popular local law enforcement leader cites Harding’s
commitment to law enforcement and to rural Florida.
Gilchrist Sheriff Robert Schultz today endorsed the Joe Harding for State Representative Campaign, the most recent in a long line of first responder endorsements for Harding.
“Joe Harding supports our law enforcement community and understands the needs of rural Florida,” said Gilchrist Sheriff Robert Schultz. “The law enforcement profession and our officers are being attacked by liberal elitists, and it is imperative that we elect conservative fighters like Joe Harding to the Florida House to fight for the thin blue line.”
Schultz is a Bell High School and Lake City Community College graduate and started his career with the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office in 1992. He went on on to stints with the Lancaster Correctional Institution, Chiefland Police Department, Levy County Sheriff ’s Office, Eighth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, and the Eighth Judicial Circuit Public Defenders Office. He was elected Sheriff of Gilchrist County in 2012 and was re-elected in 2016. He won the “Outstanding Service, Beyond the Call of Duty” Award with the Chiefland Police Department and Law Enforcement Officer of the Year with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office. Schultz also served as the treasurer for the Florida Sheriffs Association Board of Directors.
“Sheriff Schultz is a friend and mentor,” said Joe Harding. “At a time when our law enforcement community is being vilified, I want the constituents in House District 22 to know that I back the blue, and I’m proud to have them back me!”
Sheriff Schultz joins Fanning Springs Mayor Trip Lancaster, Levy County Sheriff McCallum, the Gator Fire Council, the Professional Firefighters of Ocala, the Gainesville Professional Fire Fighters, Representative Stan McClain, the Levy County Firefighters, Levy County School Board member Ashley Clemenzi, Levy County Tax Collector Linda Fugate, Levy County Commission Chair Matt Brooks, Williston Mayor Jerry Robinson, Belleview Mayor Christine Dobkowski, and the Marion County Firefighters in endorsing Joe Harding.
About Joe Harding for State Representative
