St. Johns County Resident Michelle Cook Attempting to Buy Clay County Election –
Sheriff Daniels Says that the Safety of Clay County is NOT for Sale
In light of the recent personal attacks by a political action committee controlled by St Johns County resident Michelle Cook and funded by out-of-town liberal trial lawyers, the reelection campaign for Darryl Daniels is releasing the following statement from the Sheriff.
“It is disappointing to learn that St. Johns County resident Michelle Cook has decided to utilize a political action committee to attempt to buy an election using dark money funded by liberal trial lawyers who have also contributed to Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren.
I recently made a pledge to not engage in dirty political campaigning and stated that it is just that: dirty. It’s in poor taste and it shows true character. I defended Michelle when it came to our attention that there was an abhorrent website which exposed personal information of hers such as financial and personal problems and while also attempting to demonize her for her lifestyle choices.
For her and the political committee that her campaign team coordinates to now accept money according to the State of Florida Department of Elections campaign finance database, from liberal trial lawyers from Jacksonville who themselves are currently supporting Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren and opposing the reelection of Donald Trump demonstrates just how out of touch Michelle is with Clay County.
The Daniels campaign will not stoop to those levels, but we will continue to work to take on another four years to expand the work that we have already done in our community. As the country works to overcome the COVID-19 situation as well as respond to the national conversation on the relationships between law enforcement and the community, Clay County needs and deserves better. The safety of Clay County is not for sale,” said Sheriff Darryl Daniels.
