Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the appointments of John Stargel and Suzanne Labrit to the Second District Court of Appeal. The Second District Court encompasses the Sixth, Tenth, Twelfth, Thirteenth, and Twentieth Circuits.
John Stargel
Stargel, of Lakeland, has been a Judge of the Tenth Circuit since 2006. He previously served as a state representative in the Florida House of Representatives. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa and his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law. Stargel fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Samuel Salario, Jr.
Suzanne Labrit
Labrit, of Tampa, has been a Partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP since 2003. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Nova Southeastern University Law Center. Labrit fills the vacancy created by the confirmation of Judge John Badalamenti to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
