State Senator Linda Stewart (D-Orlando) issued the following statement regarding the Deloitte Contract with AHCA – “Our Citizens Deserve Better”:
“It is absolutely unconscionable that the state would even consider awarding another multi-million dollar contract to the same firm that designed the over-budget and under-functional disaster of an unemployment system that the governor has described as a “clunker” that was intentionally designed with “pointless roadblocks” to take advantage of Floridians and pay as few claims as possible. I agree with the governor – the integrity of any company that would purposefully design a system to fail is highly questionable, and our citizens, especially the vulnerable population of Medicaid recipients, deserve better. The contract must be immediately rescinded.”
