Drivers in Winter Park need to be aware of an upcoming detour at the N. New York Avenue railroad crossing, which is occurring at 9 p.m., Friday, August 7 until 4 a.m., Monday, August 10.
The suggested detour for vehicles to take in order to access locations on either side of the closure is Canton Avenue, North Park Avenue, Cole Avenue (one-way westbound), and Swoope Avenue.
The railroad crossing will be completely closed during this time. Detour signage is planned to direct motorists to the alternate routes.
This closure is necessary to upgrade the railroad crossings, which increases safety for both motor vehicles and train traffic. Construction times and schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other circumstances.
