To improve mobility and safety along the east-west corridor in Central Florida, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plans to widen State Road (S.R.) 50 from County Road (C.R.) 757 in Sumter County to C.R. 33 in Lake County. The plans will widen S.R. 50 from two lanes to four lanes and provide other safety and operational improvements. These plans are being designed under two projects.

The community is invited to learn more about the plans and provide comment during a Virtual Public Meeting (VPM) on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Persons interested in joining this free, live presentation or webinar over the internet need to register in advance by visiting: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/6431848761916043276. For participants who are unable to view the webinar, they can listen to the meeting calling: 1-877-309-2074 and entering the access code 645-740-707 when prompted.

Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the VPM online from a computer, tablet or cell phone. Information about the widening plans for S.R. 50 from C.R. 757 to the Sumter/Lake County line (Financial Project Identification (FPID) No.: 435859-4), and for S.R. 50 from the Sumter/Lake County line to C.R. 33 (FPID No.: 435859-5) will be presented.

The VPM opens at 5:30 p.m. A formal narrated PowerPoint presentation will begin promptly at 5:45 p.m. Please provide adequate log-in time to view the presentation in its entirety.

Meeting materials, including the presentation, will be made available on the FDOT website by August 27, 2020, at www.cflroads.com (please type 435859-4 or 435859-5 in the search box).
