UT Named One of the Best Colleges by The Princeton Review

Posted on August 21, 2020

The University of Tampa has been again named by The Princeton Review as one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education.

The rankings, listed in the book The Best 386 Colleges, are based on surveys of 143,000 students at 386 top colleges.

“We recommend every one of the 386 colleges in the new edition of our book as a ‘best’ choice, and we salute them for their exceptional offerings, especially during this extremely challenging academic year,” said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review’s editor-in-chief.

In UT’s profile, students praise UT’s “many resources and opportunities” and its “hands-on and experiential learning.” They also acknowledge the “amazing professors” who are “very much available for extra help or extra explanations both during and outside of class,” and who give students “the opportunity to create and carry out experiments.”

Students also mentioned that UT is “very diverse in that people from all different cultures make up the community,” and as such, students are introduced to a large variety of “beliefs, backgrounds, ethnicities and ideologies.”

“UT’s continued inclusion in this well-respected guide is a testament to the expertise and commitment of our faculty and staff to provide an outstanding educational experience for students,” said UT President Ronald L. Vaughn.

In The Princeton Review’s “2021 Best Colleges: Region by Region,” UT is recognized as one of the top colleges in the Southeast for being “academically outstanding” and well worth consideration in students’ college search.

In the “Rankings & Lists” feature,UT is named No. 37 out of 50 colleges for best undergraduate entrepreneurship programs, based on academic offerings, experiential learning opportunities and career outcomes.

“These schools have truly robust offerings in entrepreneurship studies,” Franek said. “Their faculties are outstanding. Their courses are rich with in-class and out-of-class experiential components, and the financial and networking support their students receive is extraordinary.”
