Citing his support of priorities for Florida’s firefighters and their families, Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez (D-Miami) has been endorsed by the South Florida Council of Fire Fighters.
“Each day, Florida’s firefighters put their lives on the line to protect our communities and keep us safe,” stated Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez. “I am proud to have the support of the Florida Professional Fire Fighters and the South Florida Council of Fire Fighters and I look forward to continuing to be an advocate on the issues that matter to first responders when I am reelected this fall.”
The Florida Professional Firefighters are comprised of 150 local affiliates and councils, with a membership of over 24,000 Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services Personnel, working in 175 departments within the various state, county, municipal, and special district governments of Florida.
“Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez has a proven track record of support and appreciation for the work firefighters and first responders put in every day,” declared David Perez, President of the Florida Professional Firefighters. “The Florida Professional Firefighters strongly endorse Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez for reelection to District 37 and welcome his return to Tallahassee as a passionate ally for our members and all organized labor.”
The South Florida Council of Fire Fighters represents members of the International Association of Fire Fighters in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. They support candidates who stand with firefighters and their families in service to the state of Florida.
“When we needed a leader in Tallahassee to help pass legislation to provide health coverage to firefighters who get cancer in the line of duty, Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez stepped up and was instrumental in its passage,” said John O’Brien, President of the South Florida Professional Fire Fighters. “Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez has always had our back and that’s why we’ll have his as he seeks reelection in District 37.”
