New crossings available in-time for the start of school
What: With pedestrian signals newly activated on the corridor and back to school around the corner in Volusia County, FDOT is conducting an on-street educational outreach event. The Department will be educating pedestrians on how to use the new accommodations installed on U.S. 92 near Mainland High and Daytona State College.
One of the crossings features a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB). Please see the attached documents to learn more about PHBs and specifics of this project.
When: Thursday, August 27, 2020, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Who: John Tyler, P.E., FDOT District Five Director of Transportation Operations and Jessica Ottaviano, FDOT District Five Public Information Director
Where: U.S. 92 (International Speedway Boulevard) near the entrance of Mainland High School (Highland Avenue). Parking will be available in the Mainland High School parking lot in front of the Vince Carter Athletic Center.
