Firm honored with four statewide awards for campaigns during PR industry event
Building on its 24-year legacy of excellence in the field of public relations and integrated communications, Sachs Media captured top statewide recognition in the 2020 Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Golden Image Awards.
The Annual FPRA Image Awards competition recognizes public relations practitioners for exceptional work in a range of categories. Sachs Media captured the top prize, a Golden Image Award, in the Crisis Communications category and earned an Award of Distinction for Public Affairs work.
Ron Sachs, Founder & CEO of Sachs Media, expressed gratitude for the firm’s continued success and leadership in the industry as it nears 25 years of overcoming challenges for clients and breaking through.
“Since starting our firm almost 25 years ago, our guiding principle has been that everyone deserves to have their story told, and we’re dedicated to helping them tell it as effectively as possible,” Sachs said. “We don’t do it for the awards, but it’s both humbling and inspiring to know that our peers respect and recognize how well we are serving our clients and making an impact.”
The highest honor in the Crisis Communications category, a Golden Image Award, went to the firm’s Saving the Independence of Two Unique Florida Universities campaign on behalf of Florida Polytechnic University & New College of Florida. This campaign also took home a Judges’ Award. The campaign was recognized for saving the independence of Florida Polytechnic University and New College of Florida when surprise legislation to fold them into bigger universities emerged and gained steam midway through the 2020 legislative session. The campaign utilized earned media, digital, and grassroots efforts. The campaign also earned a Judges’ Award, an indication of its overall effectiveness.
In addition, Sachs Media earned an Award of Distinction and a Judges’ Award on behalf of the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis for a campaign Protecting Services for Florida’s Vulnerable Children. The Association engaged Sachs Media when state officials announced a plan that could jeopardize services for children with developmental disabilities. The media and grassroots campaign led to the state backing off its plan.
“To have this kind of recognition from our peers for the hard work and outcomes we produce for our clients is truly an honor,” said Michelle Ubben, President and Partner at Sachs Media. “We take on our clients’ challenges like they’re our own, and I’m very proud of our exceptionally talented and dedicated team.”
Last year, the firm received numerous awards including the Dick Pope All Florida Golden Image Award for best single campaign of the year for its Rebuild Florida campaign on behalf of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity — the third time in a decade that Sachs Media earned that distinction.
