The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, along with the Largo Police Department arrested Christopher Carr, 61, of 9815 Harrell Avenue, Treasure Island, for 20 counts of transmission of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography with enhancements and one count of violation of probation.
Beginning in March 2020, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Cyber Crimes Task Force found that Carr was sharing thousands of child pornography files online. Further investigation established that he is a registered sexual offender on probation for prior child pornography charges. A search warrant was executed yesterday and multiple electronic items belonging to Carr were seized. They found child pornography which featured children as young as six months old.
Carr was booked into the Pinellas County Jail with no bond. Additional charges are dependent upon completion of forensic exams. This case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
