PIO Provides Information on Latest Rail Safety Initiatives for National Rail Safety Week
What: Central Florida’s rail safety landscape is fast-changing due to recent innovations, statewide directives, and planned initiatives. FDOT is hosting a media availability at adjacent railroad crossings in Winter Park to provide media information, speak to new signage and markings currently in place, and answer questions about completed, pending and future rail safety projects.
National Rail Safety Week (9/21-9/25) provides an ideal platform to spotlight and educate on these projects. The two crossings highlighted during the availability are located at New York/Lyman Avenue & Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park, Florida; a three-minute walk from the event location along a paved pedestrian path.
