In a recent interview with NBC 6, 24 Hour Fitness CEO, Tony Ueber, discusses going “above and beyond” to keep team members and club members safe while working out in gyms.
At 24 Hour Fitness, health and safety is the top priority. To achieve this, the COVID-19 refreshed club experience offers touch-free club check-in through the 24 Hour Fitness 24GO app using your smart phone, club cleaning throughout the day and social distancing measures throughout the club and during training sessions, followed by stringent cleaning protocols after the clubs are closed. Dedicated to maintaining a “gold standard” for safety, 24 Hour Fitness continually monitors state and local governments and local public health agency protocols to assure that the clubs meet current and future guidelines for business operations, and provides a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Most recently, the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) analyzed surveys for nearly 50 million gym check-ins and found less than 0.0023% participants tested positive for COVID-19. The surveys appear to indicate no evidence of positive COVID-19 cases originating in gyms themselves.
“In this historic time of ambiguity, fitness and the gym experience are essential as a model of preventative healthcare,” said Tony Ueber, CEO, 24 Hour Fitness, previously. “We urge our leaders to consider authorizing fitness as an essential business as we continue our journey to the other side of this pandemic.”
