The Florida A&M University curfew will be lifted today, Friday, October 9, 2020, since the positivity rate has declined to a manageably low level. The University reserves the right to revisit a curfew or any other measures if there is a spike of COVID-19 cases on campus. Also, students must continue to adhere to our Emergency Procedure Guidelines that consist of the following:
- Wearing of a facial mask
- Practicing social distancing
- Practicing good hygiene
- Submitting to a digital thermometer when entering offices
- Must notify Student Health and stay in the residence if having symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
The restrictions on campus gatherings have been expanded to 30 participants with appropriate mask wearing and social distancing.
Violation of any of FAMU’s Emergency Procedures is still considered an offense in the Student Code of Conduct with penalties that can lead to suspension from the University.
As part of an effort to stem the spread of COVID-19, the University requests students, faculty and staff to take the self-assessment on the FAMU app before arriving on campus or attending class daily.
We would like to thank students, parents, staff and faculty for adhering to our Emergency Procedures and for continuing to “Protect the FAMUly.” We will remain diligent in our efforts to combat the spread of the virus on our campus and will keep all stakeholders informed of our progress.
