Motorists should be advised that traffic on State Road (S.R.) 33 will shift to the partially completed Green Swamp Bridge on Monday, November 9.
Traffic on S.R. 33 has been using a temporary one-lane bridge since July during construction of the new bridge. Beginning as soon as Monday morning, traffic will shift off the temporary structure to the new bridge so that crews can begin the process of dismantling the temporary bridge and finishing the new bridge.
The current one-lane traffic pattern will continue after the shift as crews continue construction. Northbound and southbound traffic will continue to alternate using one open lane, with traffic controlled by signals at both ends of the bridge.
When the signal is green for northbound S.R. 33 traffic, motorists may cross the bridge until the signal turns red. Then the signal will turn green for southbound traffic, and motorists traveling that direction may cross until the signal turns red. Northbound and southbound traffic cannot cross at the same time.
Please reduce your speed approaching the bridge and exercise caution in the work zone.
