In Broward, Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast
In preparation for Tropical Storm Eta, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), in coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), has started locking down state drawbridges in Broward and Palm Beach Counties early this morning.
We will begin lockdown of the Old Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart and North Bridge in Fort Pierce at noon today. The bridges will be closed to marine navigation once lockdowns are complete and will remain closed for the duration of severe weather and until the drawbridges and waterways can be assessed for damages.
Mariners are encouraged to frequently check the USCG Notice to Mariners for updates and additional information at Sector Miami, homeport.uscg.mil/port-directory/miami.
