Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Activates Business Damage Assessment Survey in Response to Tropical Storm Eta

Posted on November 20, 2020

The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and State Emergency Response Team today activated the Business Damage Assessment Survey in response to Tropical Storm Eta, which made landfall earlier this month in South Florida and along the Nature Coast. The program, managed by the DEO, will gather information through the survey from businesses affected by Tropical Storm Eta and share the results with various local, state and federal agencies to implement appropriate disaster relief programs.

“We know that many businesses were impacted by the severe weather caused by Tropical Storm Eta,” said Dane Eagle, Executive Director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.  “Under Governor DeSantis’ leadership and with the support of our partners at the Division of Emergency Management, we will help support businesses through the recovery process.  If your business suffered damage as a result of Tropical Storm Eta, please complete the Business Damage Assessment survey at FloridaDisaster.biz.”

DEO is currently surveying businesses in the affected counties. To access the business survey, please click HERE and select “Tropical Storm Eta” from the drop-down menu. Completed surveys will be used to determine which emergency support programs might be beneficial to aid recovery efforts in the area. Local, state, and federal officials will use this information to measure impact and determine need for recovery assistance programs.

About DEO
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity combines the state’s economic, workforce and community development efforts, expediting economic development projects to fuel job creation in competitive communities and promote economic resiliency.
