As confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Florida, Senator Jason Pizzo and Commissioner Micky Steinberg announce a new pop-up community testing location, in partnership with CDR Maguire: Disaster Health and Medical. The site will offer free walk-up testing to residents 18 and older. No appointments are needed to be tested. Masks must be worn at the sites and social distancing guidelines will be observed. Tests are limited and will be conducted on a first come, first served basis.

“One of the best ways to protect ourselves from this virus is by getting tested,” Commissioner Steinberg said, “and organizing free events like this is incredibly important as cases increase week over week.” Today, over 1 million cases have been diagnosed statewide and almost 19,000 Floridians have died from COVID-19. Miami-Dade County, alone, has contributed almost 230,000 of those cases and over 3,800 of those deaths. “Any increase in testing we can provide the residents of Miami Beach is a critical step toward saving lives and slowing the spread,” added Senator Pizzo.
