Americans for Prosperity-Florida State Director Skylar Zander today issued the following statement after the Senate Appropriations Committee approved Senate Bill 48, which is sponsored by Senator Manny Diaz Jr.
“Every student is unique, and parents deserve the freedom and flexibility to meet their children’s unique educational needs and provide them with the best chance to succeed. A child’s academic success shouldn’t be predetermined by his or her zip code. Senate Bill 48 goes a long way toward expanding educational opportunities for Florida families, and Americans for Prosperity applauds the Senate Appropriations Committee for approving this important bill. We’re grateful to Senator Diaz for his leadership on this meaningful education reform.”
Senate Bill 48 would streamline the state scholarship programs by consolidating five programs into two, and expand education savings accounts.
