Mast Urges President To Include $725 Million For Everglades Restoration In Budget

Posted on March 4, 2021

U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18) today joined environmental advocates and the Florida Congressional delegation to request that President Joe Biden include $725 million in funding for Everglades restoration in his FY2022 budget request. At Rep. Mast’s urging, funding for Everglades restoration has increased dramatically over the past several years, including a historic $250 million commitment from President Donald Trump last year.

“President Trump made historic progress on Everglades restoration, and now it’s time to build on that momentum with an even larger commitment,” Rep. Mast said. “With the EAA Southern Storage Reservoir within our grasp, now is the time to put the pedal to the metal to stop discharges and send the water south once and for all!”
