“Governor DeSantis shamefully chose to sign an unnecessary and antidemocratic election bill into law in front of FOX News cameras this morning. This bill, now Florida Law, is filled with bad public policy to limit voting access and was only strong-armed through the Florida Legislature as a ploy to build his national profile ahead of the 2024 Presidential election. Supervisors of Elections throughout Florida have called these changes wholly unnecessary after a seamlessly run 2020 election; we witnessed record voter turnout and subsequent audits to verify results at a county level, as is current law. This bill is a blatant attempt at voter-disenfranchisement and does nothing to address the tangible cases of election fraud we observed in Florida this past November.”
