Northeast 36th Avenue in Ocala will be closed Sunday night, May 9, and Monday night, May 10, between Northeast 19th Place and Northeast 17th Place for roadway work. The closure will be from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day, and a detour will be in effect.

The detour is as follows (and in attached map):

Motorists traveling south on Northeast 36th Avenue will have to turn east (left) on Northeast 21st Street, then south (right) on Northeast 39th Avenue to get to Northeast 14th Street or Silver Springs Boulevard.

Motorists traveling north on Northeast 36th Avenue will have to turn east (right) on Northeast 14th Street, then north (left) on Northeast 39th Avenue, then west (left) on Northeast 21st Street to get back to Northeast 36th Avenue.

This brief closure and detour is part of FDOT’s effort to widen Northeast 36th Avenue and construct a bridge over the CSX rail line.

Please note that construction schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. For more information about this project, please visit https://www.cflroads.com/project/431798-3.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT District Five Communications Office at [email protected] or by phone at 386-943-5593.

Please remember to remain alert and exercise caution while driving through work zones.
