FDLE agents arrested Ryan Anthony Rice, 32, of Cape Coral, on 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material in violation of Florida Statute 827.071(5)(a), a third degree felony. Due to the number of videos/images and the sexual battery of children depicted in the videos, each count qualifies to be enhanced to second degree felonies based on F.S. 775.0847(2)(a)(b).
FDLE agents took Rice into custody today after agents executed a search warrant at his home and forensic examinations of Rice’s computer uncovered numerous videos of children involved in sex acts. Some of the child victims were under the age of five. The Cape Coral Police Department assisted with the search warrant.
Rice was booked into the Lee County Jail. Additional charges are dependent upon completion of forensics exams. The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit.
