The Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation will host a webinar on Tuesday, May 18 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
Karen Moore, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, will speak on Florida’s current recycling rates, successes and current focus for 2021 and beyond.
Susan Robinson, Sr. Director of Sustainability for Waste Management, North America’s largest residential recycler, will give a national industry perspective on the state of recycling in 2021, lessons learned from the pandemic, and input the industry has provided to the EPA on its national recycling strategy discussions.
Dylan de Thomas, The Recycling Partnership, and Liz DeWitt, President & CEO, Florida Beverage Association, will participate on a panel and discuss best practices to reduce contamination in recycling including innovative public education campaigns.
Andrew Williams, Marpan, will moderate a panel with Mike DeClerck, Florida Area Recycling Director for Waste Management, and Joaquin Mariel, COO of Balcones Resources/Single Stream Recyclers, on innovations in recycling processing, investments in technology, and robotics.
Michael Hewett, Director, Environmental and Sustainability Programs for Publix Super Markets, will moderate a panel about markets for recycled materials. Stephanie Baker, Director of Market Development for KW Plastics Recycling Division, will talk about the plastic markets and Bill Moore, Moore & Associates, will discuss the paper markets.
