Florida Hospital Association President and CEO Mary Mayhew applauded Governor Ron DeSantis for signing the Florida Leads state budget for fiscal year 2021-2022 that makes a historic investment in Florida’s health care future.
“Today, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new budget that demonstrates a strong commitment to the health and welfare of Floridians and the doctors, nurses and staff that braved the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the Governor’s leadership and the leadership of Senate President Wilton Simpson and House Speaker Chris Sprowls, Florida is creating a brighter future for all by investing in health care priorities, such as extended medical coverage for new mothers, funding for mental health initiatives and support for hospitals to continue to provide the highest quality of care. On behalf of the Florida Hospital Association’s 200 member hospitals and health systems, I want to thank Florida’s leadership for this monumental investment in our state’s health care future.”
