For the second year, FAMU is hosting an Acceptance Day event to celebrate students admitted to the University, have enrolled or are planning to enroll this summer or fall.
The virtual event will be held via Zoom and social media 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 4. An after party will begin at 4:30 p.m. The goal of the activities is to encourage admitted students to enroll and officially join the Rattler class of 2025.
FAMU President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., will help kick off the event, which will also feature alumni, staff, student peer mentors and others. Among the alumni scheduled to participate are Tirrell D. Whittley, film producer, entrepreneur and media executive leader of Liquid Soul; State Rep. Ramon Alexander; Attorney Tristin Brown; Lt. Commander Roni Beasley-Ledet of the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General Corps; her younger brother, Lt. Ronald Beasley of the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps; Dr. Loren McLendon of the Mayo Clinic Florida, and others. Entertainment includes the Marching 100 classic performances and highlight videos.
