Rep. Tom Fabricio today made the following remarks regarding the signing of the Florida budget:
“First of all, we thank Gov. Ron DeSantis for signing this budget and for his strong leadership leading our state from the pandemic back to economic recovery,” said Rep. Tom Fabricio. “We are proud of the work we did in the Florida Legislature. I thank all of my colleagues in the Florida House, especially Speaker Chris Sprowls and Appropriations Chair Jay Trumbull, for their tireless work to preserve the public’s trust while advancing a budget that adheres to our conservative values.
“Because of this work, with valuable feedback and input from our communities, the Florida Budget will fund the following local priorities:
- City of Hialeah Elder Meals — $1,650,000
- City of Hialeah Water and Sewer Improvement — $935,000
- City of Hialeah Gardens Elder Meals Program — $292,000
- Miami Lakes Royal Oaks Drainage Improvement Project — $440,220
- City of Doral Stormwater Improvements NW 89th Pl & NW 24th — $200,000
- Medley 89th Ave. Road and Drainage Improvement — $400,000
- Medley 97th Ave. Road and Drainage Improvement — $500,000
- Medley 99th Terrace Connector Roadway and Drainage Improvement — $500,000
- Miramar Historic Miramar Drainage Improvement Phase IV — $250,000
- MATTER, Medication Assisted Treatment and Telehealth Enchanced Recovery — $500,000
- City of Miami Springs Supplemental Meals — $215,000
- St. John Bosco Clinic — $300,000
- HOPE, Mission Center — $100,000
“In addition, the Budget saves nearly $10 billion in Florida’s reserves, which will enable us to be prepared for hurricane season or any other downturn in our situation. The future is bright now that we are returning to normal life and normal economic activity. I look forward to returning to Tallahassee in the fall to continue this important work.”
