The Florida Health Care Association will hold a news conference this Thursday to discuss newly signed legislation establishing a permanent Personal Care Attendant Program as a first step toward easing the ongoing workforce shortage in the long term care industry. Governor DeSantis signed House Bill 485 last week. Bill sponsors Sen. Aaron Bean (R-Jacksonville) and Rep. Sam Garrison (R-Orange Park) will speak at the news conference, joined by leaders of the Florida Health Care Association and representatives of a local nursing center. The long term care workforce crisis which continues to threaten Florida’s growing aging population in nursing centers.
