The Florida Lottery is today excited to announce enhancements to the POWERBALL® Draw game, which offer more chances to win cash prizes! The enhancements go into effect this Sunday, August 22, and include:
- A new Monday drawing, giving players three nights to play! Drawings will air live from the Florida Lottery’s state-of-the-art draw studio in Tallahassee on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m., ET.
- A new $1 add-on feature called Double Play®, offering players the chance to win up to $10 million!
- A reduction in the maximum number of future drawings available for Advance Play purchases, from 52 to 39 drawings.
“The Florida Lottery is excited about these enhancements coming to POWERBALL and we look forward to celebrating more jackpot-winning moments with our players,” said Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis. “We routinely lead the country in POWERBALL sales, and now, with more ways to play and win, our players will continue to enjoy the fun and excitement that comes with playing America’s jackpot game with the added benefit of generating funds for education in Florida.”
Double Play is an add-on feature that gives players the chance to win up to $10 million in an additional drawing held following each POWERBALL drawing, using the same numbers played on their POWERBALL ticket. Double Play tickets cost an additional $1 per play and apply to all panels, including Quick Pick selections and Advance Play.
The price of a POWERBALL base game ticket will remain $2 per play and players will continue to select five white ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. Players will also still have the option to purchase the Power Play® add-on feature for an additional $1 per play.
Sales for the new POWERBALL game enhancements begin on Sunday, August 22, 2021, with the first Monday drawing and Double Play drawing taking place on August 23 at 10:59 p.m., ET. Florida Lottery game drawings are broadcast on 20 carrier stations throughout the state. Winning numbers are available on the Florida Lottery’s website (www.flalottery.com), on the Lottery’s free mobile app for iOS and Android users, at any authorized Florida Lottery retailer, and by calling (850) 921-PLAY (7529). You can also view the drawings online on the Florida Lottery’s official YouTube channel.
