Enterprise Florida Announces Virtual Select Florida Expo

Posted on August 26, 2021

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) announced its 2021 Select Florida Expo, a virtual event focused on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). Set for November 30 to December 2, the Select Florida Expo follows EFI’s Florida International Trade Expo, the first of its kind in the nation.

Building on the strength of the national SelectUSA FDI-promotion brand, the 3-day event will highlight Florida’s attractiveness as a leading global investment destination for foreign companies, which already have invested close to $100 billion in the state, employing nearly half a million Floridians.

“With the success of EFI’s Florida International Trade Expo, we realized the enormous impact and reach that is possible in the virtual space, and we look forward to continuing to build business connections through the Select Florida Expo,” said Secretary of Commerce Jamal Sowell, President and CEO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. “This expo led by EFI’s talented international trade and development team will provide a worldwide platform to highlight Florida’s diverse communities and business advantages.”

A series of live webinars will cover crucial topics such as Florida’s welcoming business climate, innovation economy, diverse economic regions and sectors, and testimonials from foreign companies who have invested in Florida. Special attention will be paid not just to the reasons why to invest in Florida, but also on how to invest in the state.

Florida’s economic development partnerships will have the opportunity to showcase their communities to potential investors worldwide and to directly connect with them in real time via the Select Florida platform.

Enterprise Florida is targeting up to 100 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees. Visitors will include corporate executives, multipliers, and site selectors from all over the world. Partners include EFI’s primary memorandum of understanding (MOU) economic development partners at the local/regional level, as well as universities and research institutes, technology and business associations, and statewide partners like Space Florida.

Enterprise Florida will promote the event via its own network of representative offices in other countries, as well as through partnerships with the U.S. Department of Commerce, American Chambers of Commerce abroad, and other longtime partner organizations.

Live webinars during the virtual expo will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (US Eastern Standard Time) each day, while virtual booths will remain open 24 hours a day. Prospective Florida exhibitors, such as economic development partners and universities, will receive invitations from Enterprise Florida to set up their virtual booths. The cost for worldwide visitors to attend is complimentary.
