“Any attempt to emulate the Texas abortion ban is an all-out assault on women’s rights. The introduction of such a bill would send a clear message to me, and to other survivors of sexual assault, that we do not matter – that our state leaders care more about our rapists than about us. Most women don’t even know that they are pregnant before six weeks. These kinds of measures are draconian, cruel, and have no place in modern society. So long as the bodily autonomy and self-determination of women are under attack, I vow to give those who seek to oppress reproductive rights the fight of their lives — for my daughter, for myself, for fellow survivors, and women everywhere. They cannot win.”
