FDOT provides information on latest rail safety initiatives for National Rail Safety Week
What: Central Florida’s rail safety landscape is fast-changing due to recent innovations and statewide safety enhancements. FDOT is hosting a media availability adjacent to railroad crossings in Winter Park to provide safety tips and information about efforts happening in Central Florida.
National Rail Safety Week (9/20-9/26) is an opportunity to spotlight the importance of safety near railroad tracks while educating the community. The two crossings highlighted during the availability are located at the New York Avenue/Lyman Avenue intersection and Fairbanks Avenue (east of Pennsylvania Avenue) in Winter Park, Florida – a three-minute walk from the event location along a paved pedestrian path.
