Ride SunRail at No Cost on FREEky Friday, October 29 to Kickoff Mobility Week

Posted on October 28, 2021

The Florida Department of Transportation is celebrating its annual statewide Mobility Week from October 29 through November 5, 2021 to promote transportation choices in our community.

To kickoff the week, SunRail invites the community to ride at no cost on FREEky Friday, October 29. It’s no trick! On this day only, SunRail, Central Florida’s commuter rail system, will offer FREE rides all day for everyone.

Riders are encouraged to enjoy seasonal festivities, attend community events and visit local attractions such as the Orlando Pride match, which will include an extra late-night train traveling southbound at 10:30 p.m. from Church Street Station in addition to the regularly scheduled northbound train. For a list of Halloween events and fun destination ideas, visit the Events & Activities page at SunRail.com.

Mobility Week is a celebration of making smart, efficient, and safe multimodal transportation choices. During Mobility Week, cities, counties, and transportation partner agencies host events to promote transportation choices, highlight transportation achievements, and roll out new initiatives or policies.

SunRail provides Central Florida with commuter rail service Monday through Friday along a 49-mile route from DeBary in Volusia County to Poinciana in Osceola County. Launched in May of 2014, SunRail currently has 16 stations in four counties, with four stations in the City of Orlando. Future plans include extending service north to DeLand. SunRail trains are ADA compliant and bicycle friendly and include restrooms, power outlets, and free wi-fi.

Please be careful around trains, railroad crossings, and while at station platforms. Let’s Go for Zero Distractions/Collisions/Trespassers.

For more information about SunRail, including fares, schedule, and station locations, please visit SunRail.com or download the SunRail app.
