In response to the verdict of Markeith Loyd, Representative Brown (D- Ocoee) had the following to say:
“The tragic death of Debra Clayton is one the community still deeply mourns today. Four years ago, our community lost a mother, wife, law enforcement officer, and community advocate, but her legacy will live on forever in our hearts. In 2017, Senator Bracy and I championed legislation renaming a portion of State Road 438 in our district as “Lieutenant Debra Clayton Memorial Highway.” Today, we see justice for her murder and hope this brings a measure of peace to her loved ones. I ask you to keep the Clayton family in your thoughts and prayers.”
