Earlier today, HB 369 passed with unanimous bipartisan support in the Tourism, Infrastructure & Energy Subcommittee. HB 369 creates an optional vehicle registration card for purchase by Florida drivers in place of traditional paper registration forms.
“This bill is for the protection of the general public as well as law enforcement. In the unfortunate event that someone is pulled over during a traffic stop there is often nervousness and uneasiness from both parties when requesting and providing documentation. Having a registration card the same size as a driver’s license will make it easier, more convenient, and safer for everyone during these interactions. Additionally, it protects against personal information having to be stored in a vehicle’s glove compartment, and is a natural next step towards eventually having digital licenses and registration options. I am happy this bill was able to make it out of committee and is on its way to becoming law,” said Representative Travaris McCurdy (D-Orlando).
