The Florida Lottery (Lottery) announces that Manuel Sanchez-Velasco, 61, of Orlando, is the Lottery’s the first POWERBALL® with Double Play® $10 million top prize winner. The winning ticket matched all five white balls and the Powerball from the Double Play drawing held on January 1, 2022.
Sanchez-Velasco purchased his winning ticket from 7-Eleven, located at 1201 North Semoran Boulevard in Orlando.
Double Play is an add-on feature that gives players the chance to win up to $10 million in an additional drawing held following each POWERBALL drawing, using the same numbers played on their POWERBALL ticket. Double Play tickets cost an additional $1 per play.
The next POWERBALL drawing will be held Saturday, January 22 at 10:59 p.m., EST, with an estimated $76 million jackpot. POWERBALL drawings are broadcast live, in high-definition, from the Florida Lottery’s state-of-the-art draw studio in Tallahassee. Drawings are also available for viewing on the Florida Lottery website and our official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/floridalottery. Winning numbers are available on the Lottery’s website, free mobile app, at retailers statewide, and by phone at (850) 921-PLAY.
