Farah & Farah Actively Helping Veterans and Families Impacted by Contaminated Water at Camp Lejeune

Posted on June 23, 2022

Help and hope are on the way for veterans and their families whose health was adversely affected by contaminated water at Camp Lejeune over a period of decades. Farah & Farah, a leading law firm in Florida and Georgia, is actively reaching out to help those who were affected after long-awaited congressional action resulted in recent passage of H.R. 6842 – the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022 – by the U.S. House of Representatives. The legislation establishes a legal cause of action for those harmed by exposure to contaminated water at the U.S. Marine Corps base in North Carolina over more than a 30-year period.

Based on findings from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, between August 1, 1953, and December 31,1987, Marine personnel and their families stationed at Camp Lejeune were potentially exposed to contaminated drinking water. The exposure caused such conditions as miscarriages, leukemia, neurobehavioral effects, and more to families and babies in utero.

“We are fighting for justice for the veterans who risked their lives to make sure we all are safe,” said Eddie Farah, Founding Partner of Farah & Farah. “We have spent decades standing up for veterans’ legal rights and will continue to do that as we make sure affected Camp Lejeune veterans and their families get the justice they have earned and deserve.”

Veterans may be eligible for disability claims and compensation as a result of this long-term exposure to contaminated water. Farah & Farah attorney and Marine combat veteran Nick LaFountain, who was also stationed at Camp Lejeune, can speak on H.R. 6482 and why affected military personnel should file a claim. Meanwhile, those impacted can reach out to Farah & Farah to talk to attorneys who specialize in veteran disability claims.
