Representative Kelly Skidmore (D-Boca Raton) has partnered with Palm Beach State College (PBSC) to sponsor a clothing drive for business attire. The goal of the drive is to help students prepare for their professional life. Items collected will be donated to Panther’s Closet, which is a thrift store run by the Honors College students. Honors credit is awarded to students who enroll in this community-based learning course that teaches key entrepreneurial skills in management, sales and team-building. Current students, faculty, and staff of PBSC can shop at Panther’s Closet where all items sell for $1 each.
“Panther’s Closet is a wonderful program that provides access to affordable clothing and teaches college students important entrepreneurial skills. It’s a win-win to have partnered with them,” said Representative Skidmore. “Through this clothing drive we can help students be ready for an interview or to start a job without having to spend too much money.”
The drive is going on now through the 27th with drop-off locations at Palm Beach State College campuses as well as Representative Skidmore’s District office in Boca Raton. Arrangements can also be made to have donations picked up by calling (561) 470-2086.
