Following a prior shooting earlier this week at the Cutler Manor Apartments in Goulds, and another drive-by shooting in West Perrine early Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022, Representative Kevin Chambliss (D-Homestead) will join the Miami-Dade County Police Department and volunteers at both locations to canvass the community to address these unfortunate incidents.
The first stop will be in Goulds at 10:00 am at the Cutler Manor Apartments at 10875 SW 216th St, Miami, FL 33170. The second stop will be at 1:00 pm in West Perrine at the Perrine Rainbow apartments complex at 10000 SW 173rd Terrace, Miami, FL 33157, to speak with residents.
Representative Chambliss will wrap up with a community meeting on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 6:00pm at Wilbur Bell Park, 10301 SW 170 Terrace, Miami, FL 33157. Join Representative Chambliss, the West Perrine Community Builders Association, Miami-Dade and Florida Keys Crime Stoppers, and the community for a conversation about gun violence and what course of action it will take to make a change in our community.
“The children of House District 117 are going through active shooter drills on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. This is not normal and it is unacceptable for any community to have to go through this. The Government can’t fix this problem, only We, the People can fix it,” said Rep Chambliss.
