The incoming House Democratic Leader, Representative Fentrice Driskell (D-Tampa), sent a letter to Governor DeSantis earlier today urging him to fulfill his duties to the people of Florida and execute the final budget amendment to implement already approved funding for Local Support Grant Program projects across the state of Florida. Allocating funds for these projects will enhance communities across Florida by funding local programs such as road repairs for public safety, environmental cleanup and resilience projects, as well as necessary aid to our brave first responders.
“The State of Florida received historical funding from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan that allows the State to prioritize both funding these projects that improve our local communities while simultaneously helping the people impacted by Hurricane Ian,” said Leader Driskell. “We as elected officials need to center the people of Florida and provide them with the resources necessary to lead a healthy, prosperous, and safe life.”
