Florida Grade Level Reading Campaign Unveils Free Resource Repository

Posted on November 2, 2022

The Florida Grade Level Reading Campaign (FGLRC), an initiative of the Florida Alliance of Children’s Councils and Trusts, has released its Early Literacy Resource Repository to help connect parents, educators, and other stakeholders with evidence-based resources on birth-to-five school readiness, student attendance, summer learning, healthy students, and family engagement — all in three clicks or less.

“The Florida Grade Level Reading Campaign is proud to collaborate with our State Leadership Network partners to provide tools for parents, teachers, and lawmakers alike to enhance reading and early literacy on all levels,” said Jenn Faber, Director of Engagement, Networks & Membership at the Florida Alliance of Children’s Councils and Trusts. “Success begins with our children’s ability to read, but this is not achieved in the classroom alone. It is imperative we continue to progress grade-level reading outcomes for Florida’s students and this repository is a step in that direction. We look forward to working with our partners to deliver science driven early literacy resources to continue moving the needle in grade level reading proficiency.”

The resource repository — a primary project of FGLRC’s within their Helios Education Foundation grant — contains resources from partners including: The Association of Early Learning Coalitions, Children’s Forum, Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, The Children’s Movement of Florida, Florida Department of Children and Families, Division of Early Learning, Excelined, Florida Alliance of Children’s Councils and Trusts, Florida Center for Reading Research, Florida Chamber Foundation, Florida Department of Education,  Helios Education Foundation, No Kid Hungry, UF Lastinger Center for Learning, and United Way of Florida. Since its inception in 2015, FGLRC has collaborated with a variety of state-level agencies and education partners serving on our State Leadership Network, all with the common goal of helping Florida’s students achieve at their highest potential. These partners have developed an abundance of resources from tools for parents to foster a love for reading in their home to policy recommendations for state-level work to advance comprehensive early literacy goals.

Easy to use filters can be applied to narrow a search including audience, purpose, mode of communication, and language. The repository will be updated quarterly to ensure high quality, science-of-reading-based resources are readily available for all.
