Representative Lisa Dunkley (D-Sunrise) received her first committee assignments as the newly elected State Representative for House District 97, which includes the Cities of Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, Lauderhill, North Lauderdale, Plantation, Sunrise and Tamarac. Representative Dunkley was appointed to: Health & Human Services Committee; PreK-12 Appropriations Subcommittee; Choice & Innovation Subcommittee; Local Administration, Federal Affairs & Special districts Subcommittee; Postsecondary Education & Workforce Subcommittee; and Water Quality, Supply & Treatment Subcommittee.
Representative Dunkley provided the following statement: “I look forward to serving with my other legislative colleagues to influence the issues of my assigned committees. However, I am especially pleased to be part of the decision-making on education. Early learning, access, innovation and workforce preparedness is certainly needed to cultivate a better future for our children. What we get to do is unique and I believe that through a collaborative process in our committees we will make many lives in District 97 and throughout the State of Florida better.”
