This Friday, February 17th at 7 PM, Representative Rita Harris (D-Orlando), will host a virtual town hall to discuss the results of last week’s Special Session B, upcoming legislation, and the Heart of United Way’s VITA Program.
Representative Harris will be joined by Tien Holmes from the Heart of Florida United Way to discuss the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This program offers free tax help to those who make $73,000 or less and need assistance in preparing their tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers will provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing.
“As we move into tax season, I want to connect constituents with this great service that the Heart of Florida United Way provides to assist with the preparation of tax returns,” said Representative Harris. “This program will help people get the largest return that they are entitled to without paying an expensive tax preparer.”
Representative Harris will also give an update on priority legislation that has been filed in Tallahassee as well as an update on legislation that she is working on for the upcoming legislative session. This virtual town hall will be broadcast live on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/RitaForFL) and be available for repeat viewing upon conclusion.
