On Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, Representative Michele Rayner-Goolsby (D-Saint Petersburg) will be holding a panel discussion at the annual Tampa Bay Collard Green Festival.
The Festival is an inclusive and free community event, emphasizing education in food consumption, agricultural science, and improved lifestyle choices and fitness. Taking place at the Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum in St. Petersburg, the Festival focuses on healthcare disparities within the Black, Brown, and African American populations through their “Health is Wealth” initiative.
Representative Rayner-Goolsby will be hosting the discussion about food insecurity, access, public health, and community, followed by Q&A. Panelists include Wendy Wesley, registered dietitian, and licensed nutritionist, and Carla Bristol of St. Pete Youth Farm. The Festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm. The panel will be taking place at 2 pm on the main stage.
