Upcoming Public Meeting for State Road 40 Widening Projects

Meeting will be offered in multiple platforms

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public meeting regarding plans to widen three sections of State Road (S.R.) 40 near Silver Springs on Thursday, February 23, at 5:30 p.m. The three projects are:

  • 410674-2 – S.R. 40 from the end of the four-lane section (just east of NE 58th Avenue) to east of County Road (C.R.) 314
  • 410674-3 – S.R. 40 from east of C.R. 314 to east of C.R. 314A
  • 410674-4 – S.R. 40 from east of C.R. 314A to SE 183rd Avenue Road (Levy Hammock Road)

The purpose of all three projects is to enhance safety, increase capacity and provide multi-modal accommodations.

The Department is offering multiple ways for the community to participate in the meeting. All participants, regardless of platform they choose, will participate in the same live meeting.

Virtual Option: Interested persons may join from a computer, tablet, or mobile device at 5:30 p.m. For this option, advance registration is required by visiting bit.ly/3hssswe. Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online. Please use Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your internet browser to register and attend this webinar. If joining online, please allow adequate log-in time to view the presentation in its entirety.

Phone Option (Listen Only): Participants may join the meeting in listen-only mode by dialing 1-877-309-2074 and entering the passcode 521-407-912 when prompted.

In-Person Open House Option: Participants may attend in person by going to New Harvest Church of God, 13184 East FL-40, Silver Springs, FL 34488 anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.

If attending in person, please remember to follow all safety and sanitation guidelines as well as adhere to any local ordinances. If you are feeling unwell, please consider attending the meeting virtually or by phone.

All meeting materials, including the presentation, will be available on the project websites at www.cflroads.com/project/410674-2 or www.cflroads.com/project/410674-3 or www.cflroads.com/project/410674-4 prior to the meeting.
