CS/CS/HB 97, known as Greyson’s Law, this morning passed unanimously through the Judiciary Committee, its last committee stop. Last evening, its Senate counterpart, SB 130 passed the Senate floor unanimously, with all senators co-sponsoring.
“Greyson’s death was a preventable tragedy. By passing this bill, we will honor his legacy and make all children safer,” said Representative Hillary Cassel (D- Dania Beach).
Senator Lori Berman (D- Boca Raton) added, “This brings us one step closer to protecting all kids in the state of Florida from abuse and neglect.”
“It has been an honor to work alongside Representative Cassel and Senator Berman on this important legislation and we look forward to its final passage,” said Philip S. Wartenberg (Magistrate of the 13th Circuit and Chair of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar).
