The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a Construction Open House both in-person and virtually for the Palm Beach County SR 80/ Southern Boulevard Resurfacing and Bridge Rehabilitation Project from east of Parker Avenue to west of Washington Road from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

During the online session, there will be brief presentations followed by comments and questions from the public. Project staff will be available to answer questions and discuss the project. Questions will be answered as time allows and in the order received. If a question is not addressed during the meeting, a response will be provided in writing following the meeting. The in-person meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church Cultural Center, located at 110 Southern Boulevard, West Palm Beach. The in-person session will have an informal open house format with project staff available to answer questions and discuss the project. Project documents will be available at the meeting.
The project improvements in the City of West Palm Beach consist of repaving the roadway and replacing damaged sidewalks. Improvements also include adding new pavement markings and upgrading pedestrian signals, lighting and signage. The bridge rehabilitation includes replacing the bridge deck joints, repairing the concrete traffic railing, and rehabilitating and painting the steel beams over Georgia Avenue.
Construction will begin in April 2023 and is anticipated to be completed in fall 2023. The estimated construction cost is $3.8 million.
